Khaliya Top Trek (Munsiyari tour package) is a meadow top (3500 m) in Kumaon Himalayas in Munsiyari, Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand with himalayan views of Panchachuli, Nandadevi, Hardeol, Nandakot and Rajrambha peaks.
The Khaliya Top trek is moderate and can be easily done by any age group with limited hiking experience.
Khaliya top is 6 km from Balati Bend, a place near Munsiyari, this can be done in a day but it’s better to extend and stay a night to feel the place better for a better experience.
Stay in the rest house from here the hike to the top is 2 km.
This meadow is covered in winter with snow and a popular destination for travellers and trek enthusiasts where you can try skiing with the best views.

From Haldwani – visit Bhimtal, Nainital, Kaichi Dham, Kasar Devi, Jageshwar Dham, Gurna Mata Mandir.
From Tanakpur – Champawat – Lohaghat : visit Mata Purnagiri temple, Baleshwar Mahadev Temple, Maneshwar Temple, Mayavati Ashram, Manch Taamli Baba Gorakhnath temple, Golu Devta Temple, Ghatku (Gatotkacha) Temple, Kranteshwar Mahadev Temple.
Further exploration in Pithoragarh – Patal Bhubaneswar temple Cave, Thal Kedar temple, Dhwaj temple, Rai Temple cave, Jhini Malan temple.

Where the Journey Breathes First: Nainital & Almora
Your acclimatization doesn’t begin on the slopes. It begins in the still waters of Naini Lake, the gentle rustle of pines around Bhimtal and Sattal, and the calming rhythm of life in Nainital. It’s your first breath of the mountains—the slow unwinding of city noise and digital pace.
As you travel upward, Almora welcomes you with timeless wisdom. You pause at Kasar Devi, a place where the Earth’s magnetic field holds a mysterious calm. You offer a prayer at the Chitai Golu Devta Temple, the god of justice, and walk through Jageshwar Dham, one of the oldest Shaivite temple clusters in India. These places aren’t just stops—they’re energetic spaces, each with its own vibration and ancient story.
Chitai Golu Devta Temple: you encounter heartfelt petitions and the gentle whisper of prayers amidst the tranquil forests. Further along, Jageshwar Dham: offers an ancient cluster of Shiva temples, a testament to centuries of faith nestled in deep cedar forests. As you approach Munsiyari, the scenic vistas become more dramatic, with cascading waterfalls like Birthi and the serene reflections of Thamri Kund lake inviting quiet contemplation.
Trek Journey Acclimatisation Starts
In Nainital: Bhimtal, Naini Lake and Sattal welcomes you to calm as the deep breaths feel.
In Almora: Kasar Devi (is a zone of the Earth’s magnetic field of Van Allen Belt surrounded with magical and healing effect), Chitai Golu Devta Temple (is a God of Justice), The Jageshwar Dham is the Shaivism tradition enroute, Katarmal Sun Temple (constructed in 9th Century is one of the sun temple as Konark temple)
Reach Pithoragarh : To explore the Patal Bhubaneswar Cave temple (a 160m long limestone cave hides every god and goddess you might have heard of is dwells inside)
Thal Kedar temple (one of the top mountain peaks in the town dedicated to lord shiva known as one on the Kedars)
Dhwaj temple (a symbol of Divinity and Protection – to reach here the trek is through a beautiful village and the people, to reach the top for the Himalayas view that will take you closer to the self)
Journey continues to Dharchula (a border village combines the upper himalayan culture in self) to Narayan Ashram (a peaceful place between the Deodar forest is a seeking place for spiritual learner, yoga and meditation enthusiasts)
Jhini Malan temple Cave ( a historic cave where sun sets and rises 7 times in a day)
The way to Vyas Valley is for Adi Kailash Yatra ( Adi Kailash is a spiritual peak known as a chota Kailash, Baba Kailash or Jonglingkong peak) and Om Parwat Yatra ( OM Parwat is a spiritual mountain which takes a formation of (ॐ) resembles Lord Shiva’s presence).
The highlights here at Adi Kailash: Shiv and Parvati Temple, Gauri Kund, Parvati Sarovar, Kutti Village, Pandav Fort, Pandav Parvat, Parvati Mukut.

Returning route will cut you to the parallel valley that is Darma Valley ( an old Indo – Tibet trading route is dotted with lush forests, sparkling streams, mesmerising waterfalls and the people of Rung community to blend with the old traditions and the rich cultural heritage and yes The Panchachuli Peaks as the crown of Kumaon in the Darma Valley).
The Kali River flows through the veins of Jauljibi till Purnagiri hills in Tanakpur is also a heart of Nandhaur landscape in Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary
In Lohaghat-Champawat-Tanakpur: Baleshwar Mahadev Temple (is a temple dedicated to lord Shiva is a symbol of stone carving), Maneshwar Temple (is one of the oldest shiva temple in the region where the 4 naula ( fresh water source from earth generates here since pandawas arrival here) – the name Maneshwar the place got is from Mansarovar lake – the story behind this is like when pandavas arrive here they were in search of water – Arjun used his arrow to get the water source out of earth and the 4 Naulas originated here, Mayavati Ashram (a place for spiritual practice a meditation), Manch Taamli Baba Gorakhnath temple (a historic site where the fire is lit since Satyug, fire ass is the prasad here, here god fulfills the wish for a kid), Golu Devta Temple (is the main Golu devta mandir – incarnation of lord shiva as Gaur Bhairav), Ghatku (Ghatotkacha) Temple (place is believed during Mahabharata – the head of Ghatotkach had fallen at this place after he got killed by Karna with Amogh Astra, Kranteshwar Mahadev Temple (on top mountain of Champawat with himalayas view), Mata Purnagiri temple (is one of 108 shakti peeth – where the nabhi of sati fallen).
