Explore Adi Kailash Yatra: Manaskhand is full of Spiritual destinations and one of the major destinations is Adi Kailash. Adi Kailash, also known as Chhota Kailash, is a sacred mountain located in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, near the Indo-Tibetan border.

Adi Kailash is the second most important peak among a group of five peaks in the Himalayas, known as the Panch Kailash or “Five Kailashas.” The other peaks are Mount Kailash (first), Shikhar Kailash (Shrikhand Mahadev Kailash, third), Kinnaur Kailash (fourth), and Manimahesh Kailash (fifth), in terms of importance.

Explore Adi Kailash yatra has its own significance by one of the stories mentioned in our Puranas. In Hindu mythology, it is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, and a key stop on their journey to Triyuginarayan for their marriage. Lord Shiva and Maata Parvati halted there for sometime and then resumed their journey. It is in the middle of Darma, Vyas and Chaudas Valley in Pithoragarh District and near to Tibbat border.

Why is Adi Kailash famous in Pilgrimages ?

Adi Kailash bears resemblance to Mount Kailash, the legendary abode of Lord Shiva. Unlike the original Mount Kailash in Tibet, Adi Kailash is accessible to pilgrims within Indian territory, making it a spiritual alternative for those who cannot travel to Tibet.
